The United Steelworkers released the results of study showing exactly how toxic trade kills unsuspecting American consumers during a teleconference call today at 10:15 a.m.

The victims include a four-year-old who died after swallowing an imported lead pendant that was attached to his shoe; two Philadelphia carpenters whose van crashed while they were traveling home from work on defective tires manufactured in China, and 81 patients poisoned across the country from contaminated heparin, a blood thinner imported from China.

These deaths and other injuries to consumers, workers, the environment, security and communities are detailed in the report, "The Toxic Truth: Unfair Trade Kills," by the United Steelworkers released today at the teleconference.
